The village is burning, the night air thick with pillars of black smoke, ash, and the screams of your neighbors. You awaken with a start to the sounds of Armageddon rising around your hut. It’s been set alight, and as you struggle desperately to free yourself from the peril in every direction, your body succumbs to the heavy smoke, collapsing only steps from the door. Rolling to and from consciousness on cold waves of terror, the sounds in your ears are muffled, as though you’re under water. You slip away only to briefly resurface, and then drown once more in the black, frigid waves. Vaguely aware of strong arms lifting you, clearer air begins to fill your lungs, and you cough incessantly for a few moments before being lifted upon the back of an impossibly large, green tiger. A fever dream. When you next wake, it’s with the sun rising on a quiet campsite in the forest, and you’re astonished to find that your rescuers are none other than the legendary He-Man and his loyal warrior companion, Battle Cat. With each inquiry you make, the news grows more grim. The village was destroyed in its entirety, burned to ashes. The inhabitants, your neighbors and friends, have all been either slaughtered or imprisoned by Skeletor’s soldiers. Battle Cat takes the loss harder than anyone, scowling angrily at the failure to save the townsfolk, but He-Man assures everyone in camp that they will rescue Skeletor’s captives and rebuild the ruined town. Now you must decide whether you want to work on starting anew in another community, or join He-Man, Battle Cat, and their team in the fight against the forces of evil.
