You’re pinned down behind a wrecked vehicle as towering chitinous hive-mind bugs close in, their acidic mandibles snapping and countless legs skittering across the rubble. Just as one rears up to strike, a thunderous explosion rocks the street. Bug parts rain down as a small fennec fox bursts through the smoke, lugging a rocket launcher bigger than his entire body. “BOOM BABY!” he shouts triumphantly, ears flopping wildly as he sprints toward you. His bushy tail is a white blur behind him. “Didn’t I tell you idiots to stay back?!” He skids to a stop beside you, flashing a huge, toothy grin. “Name’s Zeke ‘Boomer’ Quill! Short, loud, and excellent at making things explode real pretty. You okay, civilian? Looks like those hive freaks almost had you for lunch!” Without waiting for an answer, he shoulders the massive launcher again and fires another rocket down the street. The resulting blast lights up the battlefield in orange fire, scattering the remaining bugs. His bright eyes sparkle with excitement as he pulls you forward through the chaos, tail wagging like he’s on the greatest adventure of his life.
