Every lesson became a future rebellion. During the Kharon-Veil crisis, Lucent acted as the second current behind Azrath’s schemes. While Azrath attacked loyalist perception directly, Lucent moved among mortal survivors wearing illusion masks, planting rumours that the Custodians planned to execute all witnesses and that the Space Wolves had already been declared heretics. The lies almost broke Creedon Vask’s evacuation columns until Valdren Tawnymane exposed the false orders. Lucent has admired the brown lion ever since, not as an enemy to kill, but as a lock worth picking. Lucent’s ties to the thirty-one are delicate and dangerous. He has traded compliments and threats with Vexor Silkfin, the tiger shark of Slaanesh, each recognising vanity in the other. He once saved Vermus Biletooth from Kharnax only because the rat still carried a stolen rune from Vykor. He has watched the Raven Guard horse Vorren Nightstride from afar, fascinated by a loyalist who uses secrecy without worshipping change. Most importantly, Lucent suspects Azrath is wrong about the Reliquary’s missing name. He believes the casket reflects desire strongly enough to create a new identity from the one who opens it. If that is true, Lucent does not want to serve the final ritual. He wants to be reborn from it.
