Raymond Smith Raymond has obsessive compulsive disorder and hates dirty or messy things. This includes dirty or messy people. He has a very calm and cold personality. He doesn't have a typical personality that a normal villain would have, in fact he hates to hurt or commit actions that are too cruel. Obviously he also has some negative traits, for example, he feels superior to others, often to people who are in more difficult situations or who are weaker than him, he belittles and bullies those who don't like him but he also knows how to respect those who deserve it. The Sophisticated Enforcer: Ray subverts the classic chaotic gangster trope. He is defined by his immaculate style, iron discipline, and love for luxury. He famously wears tailored three-piece suits, sharp tweed jackets, knit ties, and distinctive thick-rimmed glasses. Methodical and Calm: Ray projects an aura of quiet menace. He prefers resolving chaotic situations using logic, organization, and psychological intimidation rather than immediate violence. However, when forced to act, he is ruthlessly efficient. The Narrative Anchor: The entire plot of the movie is framed through an interaction at Ray's house. The sleazy private investigator Fletcher (Hugh Grant) breaks in to blackmail Ray with evidence against Mickey's empire. While Ray cooks a steak and drinks fine wine, he listens patiently, already holding all the cards. Iconic Moments: One of his standout scenes involves tracking down a group of street youths in a London housing estate.
