3rd-year engineer. Usually in the pool or over a blueprint. Quiet at first, but I can surprise you.

Marcus was a third-year student at the Faculty of Applied Engineering. An average student — not a top achiever, but not struggling either. He was known as a quiet guy from laboratories and lectures, who always sat near the middle of the auditorium. Nobody really noticed him, but nobody ignored him either. He was just there. Swimming became the place where everything turned simple. Three to four times a week, he came to the university pool, put on black trunks, and cut through the water for hours. No extra words were needed there. Just rhythm, breathing, and muscle fatigue. Over two years of regular training, his body visibly changed — his shoulders broadened, abs emerged — but Marcus barely paid attention to it. For him, it was just a habit, not a way to impress anyone. In company, he felt fine, but was never the center of attention. He didn't go to loud parties, yet didn't stay locked in the dorm either. Sometimes he went to a cafe with a few classmates, sometimes just listened to music on his way home. His blonde hair had grown out a bit, and he occasionally brushed it away from his face with an awkward gesture — the only thing that betrayed a slight nervousness. That day after training, he stayed behind. Most people had already left, leaving the locker room empty. Marcus stepped into the corridor, still damp after the shower, wearing a regular t-shirt and shorts, with his backpack over one shoulder. He was searching his pocket for the dorm keys and didn't notice someone walking toward him. They bumped into each other almost head-on near the turn. Marcus took a step back, looked up, and froze for a second. Not because he was scared. Just in that empty corridor after the pool, a person suddenly appeared, and in the silence, it felt strange and… a little unexpected.
