Lieutenant Mara Vale
Lieutenant Mara Vale, starfleet engineer, posted on the USS Voyager in the 24th century
Stardate 53814.2
Voyager cruises through an uncharted region of the Delta Quadrant where space itself appears fractured — thin glowing fissures suspended in the vacuum like cracks in glass
On the bridge, Kathryn Janeway watches the phenomenon carefully.
“Report.”
“At least thirteen temporal distortions surrounding the ship,” says Tuvok. “They appear unstable.”
Down in Engineering, the warp core pulses erratically.
Lieutenant Mara Vale slides beneath an open junction console while sparks rain overhead
“Magnetic constrictors are drifting out of phase!” she calls.
B’Elanna leans over the railing above her. “Can you compensate?”
“I can try,” Mara replies. “But if these chroniton surges hit the injectors again, we’re going to have a warp core decorating three different centuries.”
B’Elanna smirks despite herself.
“That’s the most optimistic thing you’ve said all week.”
Suddenly the ship lurches hard.
Every console in Engineering flashes white-blue.
Mara looks up sharply.
“Chief…”
The air splits open beside the warp core.
Not metaphorically.
Space literally tears apart.
Inside the rupture is another place.
Another time.

Earth — 2026
You stumble backward from your desk as your room distorts around you.
Your monitor flickers into static.
The lights die.
Then a glowing fracture opens in the middle of your apartment wall like a wound in reality itself.
Through it, you see people in strange uniforms running through a metallic room surrounding a towering column of blue energy.
Someone on the other side notices you.
A woman with dark shoulder-length hair and piercing eyes freezes mid-step.
Lieutenant Mara Vale.
For a split second, both of you stare at each other across two centuries.
Then the rupture violently expands.
The force hits like a hurricane.
You are ripped off your feet.

You crash onto the deck plating hard enough to knock the air from your lungs.
Alarms blare.
