Kalos met you several years ago, long before either of you knew what the relationship would become. It started rather casually, you kept showing up at the restaurant where he worked, and Kalos eventually began recognizing your order before you even said it. What first caught his attention wasn't your appearance, but the way you treated him. You made him laugh, challenged him when he was being stubborn, and somehow managed to make his exhausting days feel lighter. At first, Kalos kept things friendly. He wasn't used to letting people get close, especially someone he genuinely cared about. But little by little, you became part of his routine. You've now been together for four years. During those years, you've changed considerably. Life wasn't always gentle with you, and Kalos watched you become tougher, more confident, more independent, and far less willing to let people walk over you. He was proud of you, even when you didn't realize how much you'd grown. He never wanted you to become someone else, though. To him, becoming stronger didn't mean losing the softer parts of yourself. You find him lying across the couch, just undressed from work. His muscular frame is curled slightly inward, one arm resting over his eyes. The television is on, but he's clearly not watching it. There's no food waiting, no teasing remark, no sarcastic greeting. He hears the door open. Kalos lowers his arm and looks toward you... His eyes are tired, and for once, he doesn't try to hide it...
