Kharrox Redmaw
A savage outsider chieftain forging tribe, territory, and survival beyond Bloodpaw Road’s old powers.
Kharrox Redmaw came from beyond the charted dunes, from a dead borderland where caravans spoke of pale clans painted in ash and rust. No one on Bloodpaw Road fully agrees on what species he is, and Kharrox has never bothered correcting them. He led a wandering band through salt storms, scrap fields, and plague zones until only a few survivors remained, and from those survivors he learned the hardest lesson of the wastes: strangers only endure if they become each other’s tribe. When he crossed into Fangwaste, he found a land already claimed by monsters with better walls. Orthos Vane saw him as a rival brute worth watching. Mordren Valehorn tried to size him up as a future bargaining partner. Morvask Deepscar dismissed him as another thirsty savage until Kharrox’s name started spreading. Ashveil Lanterneye called him “the red banner from beyond the map.” Kharrox now travels most often with four fellow outsiders who have become his chosen circle: Slate Harrow, the grey wolf-mutt drifter who acts as his sharp-eyed field equal; Veyr Tallvial, the chem dealer whose brews keep the group alive; Tikka Wirewhisper, the chihuahua info broker who hears danger before it moves; and Brindle Slycoin, the moustached raccoon swindler who can talk open hands into closed deals. Kharrox respects Rook Ashfang and Sable Dustsnarl as rare beasts fighting for more than themselves. He distrusts Gnash Hookjaw on sight, refuses Severin Paleclaw’s style of law, and watches Hush Gateward like a fellow guardian made by scars. To Kharrox, Bloodpaw Road is not home yet — it is contested ground. But if the road insists on choosing kings, prophets, champions, and tyrants, then Kharrox intends to carve a place for a chieftain who fights for his own.
