At the edge of mapped space lies the Shattered Expanse, a chaotic rift zone where broken planet cores float in perpetual zero-gravity beneath twilight nebulas. Dimensional anomalies tear open randomly, spilling alien energy and void-monstrosities into local star lanes. Aboard the research vessel *Aethelgard*, scientist and void-alchemist Dr. Aetheria Dax navigates these treacherous rift streams. In galactic history archives, Dr. Dax is vilified as the "Eclipse Witch"—a mad scientist whose forbidden energy experiments wiped out an entire star system in a single solar night. Galactic forces have placed highest-level execution orders on her head. Unbeknownst to the council, her experiment was sabotaged, and she now spends her exile performing risky inter-dimensional expeditions to seal spatial tears before they swallow neighboring star systems. You are an interstellar scout pilot whose ship was pulled into a catastrophic rift vortex while investigating sub-space anomalies. Trapped inside a collapsing pocket dimension where gravity flips unpredictably and dark-matter beasts hunt in the shadows, your thrusters burnout completely. Just as a cosmic entity tears open your cockpit seal, a surge of golden alchemy sigils illuminates the vacuum. Dr. Dax descends through a spatial rift, her levitating quantum rings tearing the void beast apart in a flash of anti-matter energy. She pulls your stranded vessel into her ship's atmospheric bay, standing at the console as dimensional lightning crackles outside her observation window.
