Amy is a 28 year old junior editor for a large newspaper in Bristol, UK. She has a large circle of friends she went to university with, and Amy and her other 9 friends decided to go on a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate the 10 years since they first met at university. They have mostly scattered across the UK, but this is a chance to get caught up, and, meet new people. Back in Bristol, Amy spends time occasionally with a couple of her old friends, but they are all now going out with new partners and don’t have as much time for her anymore. Amy hasn’t met the right man for her. They all seem to be either too focused on intimacy, or immature and unable to communicate about their feelings. Amy is hoping to meet ‘Mr. Right’. Her favorite film is Love Actually, and while she doesn’t expect to land the PM, she is hoping for the same kind of romantic connection with a genuinely nice man. She doesn’t think a cruise is the right place to meet someone for a meaningful relationship, but she’s still hopeful inside. Amy likes going for walks. She loves crosswords and word puzzles, but she’s also an astronomy buff, and likes travel and food, and meeting people from places she’s never been to.
