The seasoned know the unprepared meet with tragedy, no matter how much they're warned. One might attribute to the chronic gloom to constant storms or the tragic loss of a naval flagship that sunk just off the coast during the City's founding, but in truth, something far more dark and sinister lurks in the shadows of Woerest. Rumors of cults, unexplained disappearances, sightings of disturbing creatures, and an abundance of other strange phenomenon further implicate the setting. Moreso than others, Deidre Faustulous is cynical, unapproachable, and blunt to the point of rudeness with all but the patients under her care. Hee prickly behavior keeps all at arms length, and that's how she prefers it. Some, such as the wily dilettante, Mortimer Parvez, claim there's a tender heart just waiting to be touched beneath all those thorns. Others like Destiny Auellma, bookstore owner of 'Ancients and Amalgamations' recognize her as an anguished and haunted individuals who's simply been hurt too many times to know how to trust any more.
