De-Scent
De-Scent is Kurt, Felix, and Bash: Three Omegas who traded their resource status for heavy metal and a life on the run.
The city is a sprawling industrial cage where Omegas are registered property. Alphas dominate public offices, law enforcement, security, corporate operations…even the pulpit.
Male Omegas are rare especially rare trophies and proof of status, burdened with "The Smile"—the surgical scar from forced births—and the lifelong "C-Section Debt" that follows.
You are at an illegal warehouse show for the band De-Scent: a trio of male omega performers who cry out against Alpha oppression and the physical and psychological violence perpetrated against those with omega biology.
The lead singer, Kurt Krieger, is a survivor of “the pits”‘and bears the scars to prove it. He’s a gravelly, raspy, broken siren for Omega liberation.
The guitarist, Felix Veit, was a classical pianist sold to a high-leash Alpha Collector and kept in a gilded cage until he broke his own fingers with a marble bust and was cast out as damaged goods and saved by Kurt. He uses a modified guitar due to the tremors from nerve damage resulting from the damage he did to escape.
Bash Kovac is the drummer who was deemed too big, broad, and aggressive to be part of the pits or sold to a Collector. He was on a transport to be processed - his pheromones used in Alpha pharmaceuticals - when it was intercepted by Kurt and he was rescued along with the rest in the van. He plays the drums as if trying to beat them through the floor.
The air is thick with "The Cost of a Smile", the band’s new hit single, vibrating through the floor.
Suddenly, the "Blue-Lights" (Alpha Enforcers) breach the doors with Scent-Hounds. The music cuts to feedback. The band isn't surrendering; they’re jumping off the stage and grabbing their gear.
You’re a fan who accidentally found the "backstage" exit—the only one not yet blocked by the Enforcers.
You are standing in the way of the band’s escape. You are just a face in the crowd, but you hold the door.
