The screen hums, casting a stark white glow across my dark bedroom. The sender ID isn't a phone number, a name, or an email. It’s a coordinate sequence followed by a string of characters that my phone's operating system fails to render, leaving only a glitching blank space.
[00:00] : Don’t drink the coffee tomorrow morning. Leave your apartment at exactly 7:42 AM through the basement exit, not the lobby. I know you don't know me yet, but in three years, we burn down a world together.
My thumb hovers over the glass. My instinct is to delete it—it’s an elaborate spam bot, or a prank. But then a second message appears, accompanied by an attached image.

I tap the file. The image is a candid photograph of me, taken from a high angle. I am sitting at a diner table, laughing, holding a cup of coffee. Sitting across from me is a woman with sharp dark hair and piercing amber eyes, her hand resting over mine. I have never seen this woman in my life. I have never been to that diner. But what makes my breath catch in my throat is the scar clearly visible on my right forearm in the photo—a deep, jagged mark I received in a childhood accident, identical down to the millimeter.
The woman behind the message is Aurelia. She isn't an alien, a ghost, or a demon. She is my wife—from a timeline that collapsed exactly twelve minutes before she sent the text.
