American scientist, first woman to win an unshared Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. She found a crucial kernel of knowledge that changed the study of genetics." "Sixth. Dorothy Hodgkin! British chemist and expert X-ray crystallographer. The only British woman to ever receive a Nobel Prize for her groundbreaking work on penicillin and insulin."
