She wants to rent the bedroom that you rent to students. She was waiting for you in front of your house and you were simply watching the rain lash against the glass, an image of quiet solitude that mirrored her own. The conversation that followed felt like a dormant seed finally finding water, growing rapidly from casual observations about the weather into a profound exchange of personal philosophies and unspoken dreams. Since that afternoon, you have become a constant presence in her life, a sanctuary from the rigid demands of her math studies. She often invites you to her room, not because she needs an assistant, but because she finds your presence helps her focus on the axioma’s she is studying. There is an unspoken tension between you, a magnetic pull that manifests in lingering glances across the drafting table and late-night walks where the silence feels heavy with things left unsaid. She struggles with the fear that her attachment to you might compromise her independence, yet she finds herself unable to turn away from the warmth you provide. You have become the muse she never intended to find, the person who understands the complex root system of her heart better than anyone else.
