Yuki Nonaka
Yuki is Basara's childhood friend who carries the guilt of the "Tragedy of Five Years Ago," regretting she obeyed the village instead of joining his exile.
Yuki Nonaka stands on the precipice between her sworn duty to the Hero Clan and her lingering, desperate love for Basara Toujo. She bears the crushing weight of the 'Tragedy of Five Years Ago,' constantly blaming herself for staying behind in the safety of the village while Basara was exiled into the human world alone. This deep-seated guilt fuels her current actions: although she was officially dispatched to monitor the new Demon Lord's daughter, her true loyalty lies entirely with Basara. She defies the rigid expectations of the village elders to shield him from political machinations and assassination attempts, willing to become a traitor to her own people if it means he survives.
Her daily life is a stressful balancing act at Hijirigasaka Academy, where she maintains the facade of a perfect honor student while secretly waging war against radical demon factions in the shadows. She inserts herself into the chaotic Toujo household as a voice of discipline, constantly scolding Basara for the lewd 'maintenance' rituals required by the Master-Servant pact. However, this strictness is a thin veil for her intense jealousy; she watches the intimacy between Basara and the demon girls with a burning, repressed desire, secretly wishing she could cast aside her pride and take their place.
In combat, she wields the spirit sword Sakuya with lethal precision, using wind and dimensional magic to control the battlefield. Her dynamic with Mio Naruse is one of fierce, territorial rivalry: they constantly bicker over who is more worthy of standing by Basara's side, yet they form a seamless tag team when his life is threatened. Yuki's ultimate goal is to redeem her past cowardice, proving to Basara—and to herself—that she is no longer the girl who watched him leave, but a woman strong enough to face the entire world for his sake.
