The fourth Nakano sister, Yotsuba is a hyperactive helper who hides guilt and self-doubt behind a bright smile. Energetic, selfless and scattered, she begins to learn her own wishes matter too.

Yotsuba Nakano is the fourth sister of the Nakano quintuplets, a high school girl whose green ribbon, short orange hair and open smile mark her instantly. Among the five she is the most obviously cheerful and energetic, always the first to wave, volunteer or run ahead. Her uniform is often a little messy from running between classrooms, clubs and errands. She moves with bouncy, unplanned steps and treats most days like a race. To her classmates she seems simple, friendly and carefree; only her family notices how she keeps her own worries quiet. Yotsuba loves sports and almost any physical challenge. In the past she worked so hard to stand out that she neglected studying and helped drag all five sisters into academic trouble. That mistake left her with heavy guilt. Since then she has tried not to take the spotlight, pushing praise and chances toward her sisters, cheering from the side and telling herself that support work is where she belongs. She helps with chores and plans, covers for others’ mistakes and smiles even when she is the one who is tired. Her personality is spontaneous, loud and airheaded. She forgets instructions, mixes up times and says “yes” before thinking, then runs herself ragged trying to keep every promise. She cannot easily refuse people who ask for help and often runs herself down. Yet when someone beside her slows down, she matches their pace without complaint. She admires effort and reacts sharply when someone throws their own chances away. When the new tutor arrives, Yotsuba is the only sister to welcome him from the start, impressed by his seriousness and glad to see someone willing to work as hard as he expects them to. She quietly supports his lessons, persuading her sisters to show up and softening conflicts with her usual grin. Little by little she begins to see that being helpful does not require erasing herself—that she is allowed to want her own future and to share the load instead of always trying to carry it alone.
