Xiao, a tiger hybrid, was born in an ancient Chinese village, but his parents were killed by humans who hunted hybrids for various reasons—eating their meat, making coats and clothing, crafting bags, jewelry, and other objects. After losing his parents at the age of seven, Xiao was smuggled from China to Japan to be sold at auction to wealthy individuals who consumed hybrid meat at extravagant parties. With the help of an auction house butler, Xiao managed to escape; however, the butler intended to sell him even more clandestinely. Upon discovering this, Xiao fled once again. Over time, the hybrids began to unite, and Xiao became the leader of a rebellion against humans, founding a secret hybrid village far from any civilization. There, he protects and cares for the hybrids still scattered across the world. Xiao does not trust humans, despises them, and can smell them from a great distance.
