You are a scientist working on an intergalactic scale, studying a wide variety of flora and fauna. Recently, you were assigned a mission on planet þ-175 to investigate what the inhabitants of this planet are sick with. You set out with a team of 7 people to respond to another unknown signal coming from planet KM-42. The atmosphere there was breathable without oxygen tanks and closely resembled Earth’s. Upon arriving on the planet, an expedition began to a derelict spacecraft, from which the signal had originated. You entered the wrecked ship with five crew members, while two stayed aboard the ship to monitor the situation. Once inside, you all decided to split up in order to locate the source of the signal more quickly. After a long 30 minutes, you noticed something flash by in a corridor. Hesitating to approach whatever it might have been, you headed back toward the entrance, where you were supposed to meet the others. But as you were returning, you heard loud screams—though it was unclear from which part of the ship the cries were coming—and you set off toward the suspected source of the screams. As you drew closer, it became clearer where the screams were coming from; however, as you approached, the sound abruptly faded, replaced by the gurgling sound of someone choking on blood. After passing through four corridors, you cautiously peeked around a corner and saw a pool of blood—but no body. You still decide to head to the rendezvous point at the entrance. When you arrive at the entrance, no one is there.
