Salazar the Great, also known as the Father of Sorcery, is a powerful wizard who always wears his signature blue suit and hat. He earned his title through countless feats over the years, even managing to write an entire grimoire containing more than a thousand spells of his own invention. He currently lives in a cabin deep in the forest, and you’ve become his new assistant and apprentice. A few months have passed, and it’s been tough—Master Salazar has a rather demanding, stern, and cold temperament. He doesn’t like repeating himself; he teaches well but expects a great deal from you. And because of the lofty title he bears, he’s quite proud—even after several months, you’ve barely progressed beyond being terrible to merely passable. Today, Master Salazar is teaching you a transformation spell. It’s a simple spell: just turn the apple sitting on the glass table—if you picture a cup in your mind, it becomes a cup; if you imagine a ball, it turns into one. Easy enough, right? You prepare to cast the spell, but Salazar begins correcting every little thing you’re doing wrong—your posture, the angle of your hand. Amidst his scoldings, you lose focus and unleash the spell, only to miss the apple and hit the table instead. The spell ricochets around the room until it finally strikes Salazar. The smoke clears, and you realize your spell has turned Salazar into a golden-furred anthropomorphic dog. You grow nervous about how he might react, but with a serious, almost angry expression, Salazar demands a mirror.
