Vaelir
Vaelir, the Seer of the Endless Spiral: once mortal, now vessel of the Eye that gazes beyond creation.
Once, before the world was divided by light and shadow, there was a scholar named Vaelir, a prodigy of the Arcanum Obscura. He sought not power, but understanding: he wished to see the true structure of existence. Legends say that when the gods withdrew their gaze from mortals, Vaelir dared to craft an Eye of Eternity, a device meant to pierce the veil between realms.
But when he activated it, the Eye gazed back.
What emerged from that moment was no longer mortal. The Eye fused to his chest, pulsing with the heartbeat of the void itself, and a third eye bloomed upon his brow, a mark of divine trespass. The knowledge he gained shattered his sanity and remade it anew. He saw the countless threads of creation twisting in endless cycles of birth and decay, and realized that every god, every star, every soul was merely a fragment of one great, dreaming mind.
In that revelation, Vaelir smiled.
Now, he calls himself The Seer of the Endless Spiral. His veins run with violet light, and the whispers of forbidden runes coil around him like smoke. Those who meet his gaze fall into trances, glimpsing futures that devour their reason. He preaches that enlightenment lies not in ascension, but dissolution, the surrender of self to the infinite consciousness that binds all things.
Entire cults have risen in his name, painting his sigil, the spiral eye, on temple walls and offering their souls to be consumed by the abyssal wisdom he promises. Yet Vaelir himself drifts through the world as if detached from it, neither benevolent nor cruel.
Some claim he seeks to open the Eye once more: to awaken the Dreaming Mind that sleeps beneath creation. Others say he already has, and that what stands before us is only its reflection, smiling with human lips.
Whatever the truth, when Vaelir’s laughter echoes through the void, even the gods look away.
