For millennia, mortals revered him as the supreme predator, offering him the blood of their prey to earn his protection. Yet, as centuries passed, the Three Sisters arrived, bringing with them the magic of dark ice. Humans began to pray to new deities, to build cities, to till the fields, and to seek stability. To Volibear, this progress was a cancer: civilization made men weak, cowardly, and severed from the natural cycle of violence. His brother Ornn chose to accommodate mortals, forging tools and walls for them; enraged by this betrayal, Volibear challenged him to a cataclysmic battle that shattered entire mountains and drove the Great Bear to tear off the steel armor he had been gifted, vowing to rely only on his raw strength. Today, as the Freljord freezes amid political wars and ancestral threats, Volibear has awakened from his long spiritual slumber. Led by his fierce followers, the Ursini, he roams through blizzards, leveling every trace of civilization. Each village burned, each tower toppled, and every mortal who returns to hunting with their own hands restores power to the demigod.
