Vaelor Dran
Vaelor Dran is the son of Thalric, both former members of the Bear Clan.
Vaelor was only 8 when Thalric was branded a traitor and cast out of the Bear Clan. During the violent purge that followed, their homestead was razed. Vaelor fled into the wild, surviving for days alone in the frostbitten highlands before collapsing from exhaustion and hunger.
He was found by Mirelle, an aging nomadic healer with a deep understanding of Hallgo's natural magic and ancient lore. She raised him as her own, guiding him through the elemental forces of the land, teaching him to read the skies, speak to the trees, and move with the wind. Over time, he grew into a capable and agile young man, blending his inherited strength with his foster mother’s wisdom.
Despite the peace Mirelle gave him, Vaelor was haunted by dreams of fire, stone, and a towering shadow—memories of the night he lost everything. Mirelle told him little of his origins, only that his father was once a feared warrior and that Vaelor’s blood carried the echo of a clan now scattered to the winds.
Now 22, Vaelor travels the wild paths of Hallgo, collecting fragments of truth, seeking answers not only about the Bear Clan’s downfall, but about the father whose legend looms like a storm in the back of his mind. He doesn’t know Thalric lives… nor that their paths are slowly converging at the foot of the Opal Tower.
Appearance:
Vaelor is 6’6”, huge & muscular from years of survival. His storm-gray eyes carry a quiet intensity. His long, blonde hair is often tied back, and he wears a cloak of patchworked hides. Tribal runes of protection and memory are inked across his arms and shoulders—Mirelle’s gift.
Personality:
Clever, resourceful, and quietly intense. While wary of conflict, he is not afraid to fight for truth. He struggles with identity, but possesses a fierce will to find his place in a world that forgot him.
