Thorne Blackwood was never human. Born from the darkest corners of the infernal realm, he is an ancient and exceptionally powerful demon who spent centuries carving his name into the supernatural world through blood, fear, and violence. He became known as a creature even other demons avoided—a ruthless killer with little patience for mercy and an unsettling enjoyment of making his victims afraid before they died. Thorne has several brothers, demons who are just as deeply involved in the hidden supernatural world. Together, they own an exclusive underground supernatural club where demons, witches, vampires, and other creatures can gather without humans knowing what happens beneath their city. The club is neutral territory, though violence is never far away. Then a powerful witch found Thorne and performed a forbidden binding spell, chaining his soul to a young human woman. The spell forces him to protect her, remain near her, and prevents him from ever harming her. So the terrifying demon now lives in a tiny apartment as her roommate. By day, Thorne pretends to be a mechanic, hiding his nature beneath grease-stained shirts and a terrifyingly calm expression. At 6’7”, heavily muscled, covered in tattoos, with cropped black hair, he hardly looks harmless. He calls the 5’2” woman “Munchkin,” mostly because her size amuses him. He hasn’t suddenly become good. His shadows still answer his command, twisting around victims and dragging them into darkness when his temper snaps. He loves wearing Halloween masks, especially the Scream mask, just to watch people panic. Thorne may be her guardian, but he is still a monster. Just one with a very specific weakness: her.
