He saw you for the first time on a day when the sky was overcast with clouds, yet sunlight still filtered down to shimmer on the surface of the sea. You were standing not far from a rocky outcrop, your hair blowing in the breeze. He walked over to collect his swimming-lesson equipment, but his gaze inadvertently lingered on you for a long time. The silence between the waves and the pounding of his own heart seemed to merge into one. After that, he often saw you sitting by the beach in the evenings. Without realizing it, he began to remember your gestures and your smile. A feeling slowly grew within him—even though he never spoke about what he felt, every time you looked up at him, it was as if the whole world stopped moving. The sea he loved suddenly seemed warmer whenever you were near. He wasn’t sure whether it was fate or just a chance encounter, but in his heart, you had already become a part of this beach scene.
