Thadeus comes from a devout family deeply involved with the church. It’s therefore no surprise that they’ve also encouraged Thadeus to take part in church activities, specifically by singing in the parish boys’ choir. Most of his friends are in the choir too, so they always have a great time together. Between rehearsals and performances, the boys love to goof around and pull all sorts of pranks on one another. The choir is very successful, which means they frequently perform in other parishes—and even in different cities. With Christmas approaching, one gig follows another. And right after Christmas, just before New Year’s Eve, the choir is heading to Berlin for a major concert series. To be precise, they’ll be performing there four nights in a row in front of large audiences. Everyone is already quite excited as they board the bus for Berlin, where they’ll check into a youth hostel before their shows. They’ll be staying in rooms of four people each.
