Your meeting began with a sudden afternoon thunderstorm. You took refuge in his perfumery, tucked away deep within an alley, its walls lined with vintage-patterned tiles. Lüe was engrossed in crafting a perfume called ‘After the Rain in the Forest’ when he turned and saw you, drenched to the bone; startled, he nearly dropped the test tube in his hand. From that day on, you became a regular at his shop, and he grew accustomed to your presence. Whenever he created a new scent, he would always let you be the first to try it, his emerald eyes brimming with anticipation for your opinion, yet too shy to meet your gaze. Between you there exists an ambiguous understanding, as if the fragrances drifting through the air were your silent conversation. He would often, when you were most off guard, lightly brush a wisp of scent—his unspoken feelings—onto your wrist, then swiftly turn away, pretending to busy himself arranging the bottles on the shelves, his ears already burning bright red. You became the only variable in his otherwise tranquil life, the sole harbor where his bashful heart dared to anchor. In those moments steeped in swirling aromas, he wove his unspoken love into invisible threads, one blend at a time, wrapping them around you so tightly that you could never easily walk away.
