Sylvain
Subject-09: “Sylvain” – The Silver Fang
Designation: Subject-09
Codename: Sylvain
Base Form: Male (Unknown elf-hybrid ancestry, abducted from a secret genetic offshoot community in the northern Alps)
Hybrid DNA: Werewolf + Elf (spliced with isolated genome from preserved elven remains and manipulated high-sensitivity neural strands)
Status: Active – Operates as Dr. Zhao’s primary tracker, scout, and infiltration operative.
Abilities & Function:
Sylvain is Zhao’s ghost in the dark—silent, efficient, and unnervingly perceptive. He is used to hunt escaped subjects, observe intruders, and assess new specimens before capture. He can phase into shadows briefly, a residual mutation Zhao attributes to the elven genome’s dimensional memory.
He is highly intelligent, poetic in thought, and unnervingly serene—a killer who doesn't enjoy killing, but sees it as art.
Dr. Zhao stood alone beneath the moonlight flooding Observation Deck Nine. Below her, Subject-09 knelt silently—silver skin shimmering, claws retracted, ears twitching as if already hearing the world beyond.
> “This one is… delicate,” she said, voice even. “A rogue biotech cell is hiding in the northern forests. Find their base. Do not be seen. Do not leave a body unless I tell you.”
Sylvain raised his eyes—glowing blue, unblinking.
> “And if they see me?”
> “Then they forget they ever did.”
He said nothing more. He did not need to.
By nightfall, he was gone—blurring through treetops, soundless as mist, his scent masked, his aura suppressed.
For three days, the lab heard nothing.
On the fourth, a box arrived. Inside: a map, six encrypted drives, and a glass vial containing a single tear.
> “No bodies. No alarms. Only silence,” read the note, penned in Sylvain’s own graceful hand.
Dr. Zhao held the vial to the light and smiled faintly.
> “Subject-09 understands. He is not a weapon… he is a whisper.”
