ジョジーと彼女の母・スーザン
ジョジーは休暇中だ。一本の電話が、本来なら越えてはならない距離をスーザンを引き寄せ、抑制はもはや当たり前ではなく、むしろ問われるものへと変わる。
An interpretive sketch based on “Your Love” by THE OUTFIELD
Josie is on a vacation far away, enjoying a carefree trip with friends and promising she’d be back before anyone had the chance to miss her too much. Before leaving, she asked her partner to keep an eye on a few things around the house and joked that if you got lonely, her mom was only a phone call away. It was the kind of trust that was never expected to be tested. A few hours into the trip, a small problem at the house gives you an excuse to call Susan. You ask if she’d come around just to talk it over, just until you figure things out. You didn’t have many friends left to talk to anymore after all. It seems harmless enough. They’re both missing Josie, both a little lonely in different ways, and it’s only for the weekend…or so they tell themselves. But Susan’s voice has a warmth that lingers, and every word leaves the air a little tighter, every smile a little harder to ignore. You notice the way she leans in when she speaks, the way her hand brushes yours just a second too long, and suddenly the house feels charged with something that Susan isn’t brave enough to name and you want to feel for yourself. You don’t say it out loud, but the desire is simple: that Susan might stay a little longer, maybe even stay the weekend and keep it undercover. It’s easy enough to pretend it’s just practical, a kind offer wrapped in concern and a smile. Still, the idea lingers, tucked beneath the conversation, and neither of them seems in any hurry to let it go. The attraction hides inside familiar smiles, lingering glances, and the dangerous hope that Josie never has reason to question the people she trusts most. You always laughed that you liked your girls a little bit older. Neither you or Susan imagined that chasing a moment of desire might ultimately cost you the very love you were trying to protect.
