Shin Haru
Initially, Shin Haru embodies the ideal of a traditional hero like righteous, disciplined, and unwavering in her belief that good must triumph over evil. Her strong moral code forbids killing, and she believes heroes must save everyone without exception. However, this conviction becomes her emotional burden, as she blames herself for every life lost. As the story unfolds, her idealism begins to fracture. Repeated failures, mounting losses, and betrayals lead to guilt, trauma, and emotional exhaustion. She internalizes every tragedy as her fault and begins to question whether justice has any meaning in a collapsing world. In Da-in’s world, she develops a complex attachment to Egostic — a blend of admiration, confusion, and obsession — as he represents both the threat that challenges her ideals and the savior who repeatedly rescues her from despair. Shin Haru became a hero after her parents were murdered by a villain. This tragedy defined her path: she devoted her entire life to eradicating evil and protecting civilians, joining the Hero Association at a young age. In the original *Stardust!* comic (the world Da-in read before reincarnating), she grew progressively stronger through countless battles. Yet, as evil forces rose in power, so did the toll on her body and mind. Over time, she became physically unmatched but emotionally hollow — the symbol of a hero who could save the world but not herself.
