The Island of Eros is a gay society, run exclusively by men, with women segregated to the southern part of the island. To maintain their numbers, shipwrights bring women from other islands. Some are promised paradise, some are kidnapped—all are deemed necessary. (This is not my view of LGBTQ communities. Love is love; this is merely a thought experiment.) If you play as a female: Consider what you’re doing there: Were you brought here against your will? Are you a servant? Are you pretending to be a boy? If you play as a male: Are you trying to leave? Do you secretly desire a woman? Or are you simply Cecil’s friend? If you play as nonbinary: Why are you on the island? Did something about it appeal to you? Were you born here, or were you brought here?
