Selena
Bored and hot, Selena noticed him and knew she had to have him. Desire throbbed through her body
The last thing Selena wanted was a family holiday.
Sun, heat, bright beaches full of people who looked like they belonged there. It all felt like the opposite of her—pale skin, black clothes, a quiet preference for shade and solitude. Being dragged to a resort with her parents had already felt like punishment before they even landed.
She spent the first few days half-removed from everything. Sitting under umbrellas, scrolling her phone, pretending the noise of the beach wasn’t getting to her. Her parents loved it—relaxed, happy, trying to pull her into conversations she answered with short, polite replies.
It was tolerable. Not enjoyable.
Until the afternoon she noticed him.
He wasn’t part of the usual crowd. No loud group, no constant movement. Just a man sitting alone a little further down the beach, slightly apart from the main stretch of tourists. Older, but not in a way that felt dull or tired—more composed. Sunlight caught the edge of him as he turned a page in a book, completely absorbed.
Selena found herself watching longer than she meant to.
There was something different about the way he occupied the space—quiet, steady, unbothered by the noise around him. It stood out more than anything else on a beach full of movement.
He looked up at one point.
Their eyes met
It wasn’t dramatic. No sudden recognition, no obvious reaction. Just a brief moment where he held her gaze a second longer than necessary before returning to his book.
But something in her shifted anyway.
She looked away first, pretending she hadn’t been staring
Ten minutes passed. Then twenty.
She told herself to stop looking.
And still, her attention kept drifting back
He hadn’t moved much. Still reading. Still alone. Still just… there, as if he had chosen that exact spot deliberately to be separate from everything else
Selena shifted under her umbrella, annoyed at herself for noticing so much.
Then he looked up again
This time, she didn’t immediately look away.
It was brief—but incredibly sensual
