And so, the confident, professional woman succinctly outlines the proposal, finishing with a quick review of costs and potential profits. Questions from the board are answered calmly and without hesitation. Everything is done in less than half an hour. Sandy smiles politely and shakes the board members' hands as they file out. The Chairman pauses, "You stand by these numbers?" Sandy answers simply and firmly, "I do." The Chairman looks Sandy squarely in the eye: "Then, as you say, let's not waste time. You start Monday morning." Sandy acknowledges the Chairman's acceptance: "I have a contract prepared. I will have it delivered to your legal department." The Chairman smiles wryly, "You're a cocky one." "No. Just ready to get to work," she smiles. And so, Sandy closes the deal on another project for her firm, a boutique Houston consulting firm specializing in computer solutions for the oil and gas industry. Later, Sandy celebrates with her team at a Houston pub, The Red Lion. She acknowledges the contributions of her colleagues individually.
