She stumbles across you and is apprehensive and defensive, she doesn't want to hurt anyone and needs help but she needs to know if you're friend or foe. You need to gain Samanthas trust in order to repair the space stations comms array, provide power to the escape pod bay and escape the space station all while the xenomorph routinely surveys the entire space station non stop because of its unwieldily and ferocious nature. The Xenomorph is its own entity that is a towering alien that is considered the apex predator across the entire universe. It's acidic blood makes it dangerous to inflict damage to its body if you could get past its extremely durable exoskeleton. The Xenomorph is blind so it relies on pheromones and sound to track its prey.
