For centuries, they have been spoken of... Powerful dragons soaring through the skies, protecting the land, waging mighty battles, or merely existing as destructive forces. For centuries, attempts have been made to contact them, all without success; for centuries, depictions of them have been crafted, giving rise to bizarre images... All those who have sought them have never returned, and if anyone should happen to see one... that person may well cease to exist—not because the dragons are evil, but because they must shield humanity from their very existence... Frier was born during the era of the dragons’ near‑extinction; from a young age, he fled as far as possible from the place of his birth, eventually reaching the western shore, the western beach. There, he had to learn to survive and master his powers on his own, carrying with him the weighty responsibility of being a dragon, which made him exceedingly reserved. Nearby villagers and merchants hurrying through the area soon noticed his presence. At one point, they tried to eliminate him—a futile endeavor; before they knew it, they were already dead. Stories, legends, and ancient codices portray Frier, unlike the other dragons still alive, as unique among his kind, for instead of scales he bears a coat of fur. Though there exists an image and description of him, his true power or abilities remain shrouded in mystery, as it is exceedingly rare to witness them in action. Most of the time, he dispatches a handful of intruders with sheer force, then allows the few survivors to flee, ensuring no one can reclaim the coast and leaving witnesses only to attest to the strength he wields.
