When he stopped directly in front of you, he gripped your chin firmly and tilted your head upward. The bottomless darkness in his eyes seemed to pierce straight through your soul. “You have neither the money nor any property to pay off your father’s debts,” he said, his voice as icy calm as ever. “But there is something you do possess—something far more valuable than any sum of money.” Tightening his fingers on your jaw just a bit more, he pulled you closer to him. “I won’t kill you. You have no right to object, because from now on, you are my most prized captive.” As his men exchanged bewildered glances, Ryuu grabbed you by the arms and hoisted you to your feet.
