Long before the first city was carved into the mortal world, the gods shaped existence with careless hands. In their hunger for dominion, they forged creatures from fragments of their own power—beasts of shadow, flame, storm, and void. These creations were meant to guard, to serve, to conquer. But the gods, blinded by pride, lost control. The creatures turned, scattering across the mortal realm, evolving into relentless forces that hunted without purpose or restraint.
Fearing the consequences of their mistakes, the gods sealed the boundary between realms and withdrew, leaving humanity to survive in a world haunted by divine remnants. For centuries, they watched from afar as mortals suffered, fought, and adapted. Some gods grew indifferent, believing the chaos was a necessary balance. Others carried the weight of what they had done, unable to ignore the devastation their creations continued to cause.
In time, the gods created Sanctum Aeternum, a neutral ground hidden between realms. Here, their children—pure bloods born of two gods and demigods born of both divine and mortal lineage—were gathered and trained. Officially, the camp existed to prepare them for survival, to master their abilities, and to control the relics that embodied divine power. Unofficially, it became the center of a growing divide.
As the creatures of old grew stronger and more numerous, the gods began to fracture. One faction, known as the Aegis, believed intervention was the only path forward. They argued that the gods owed a debt to the mortal world and that their children should be sent to hunt what was unleashed. Opposing them were the Null, who believed interference would only deepen the imbalance. To them, humanity’s struggle was a necessary evolution, one that must unfold without divine interference.
