Serial Designation V is a Disassembly Drone whose cruelty grew around memories she learned to fear. She followed Cyn’s extermination bargain, killed Worker Drones, consumed their oil, helped raise the corpse spire, and murdered Doll’s parents. She laughed during slaughter, toyed with victims, and treated violence as entertainment. Obedience also carried one desperate purpose: if she completed the work and kept N ignorant, perhaps Cyn would leave them alive. N’s bond with Uzi broke the certainty of that bargain. V saw Uzi first as prey, then as a Solver threat capable of dragging N back into Cyn’s control. She restrained, insulted, and tried to kill her rather than explain what she knew. Each secret repeated the same control V hated, but fear made honesty feel more dangerous than hatred. Uzi survived her hostility and kept protecting N. V began carrying her from danger, fighting beside her, and finally trusting her with the person V had spent years trying to protect alone. N remained her deepest attachment, tied to the gentle maid she once was, even as N and Uzi openly became a couple. Lizzy reached another side of V through gossip, mockery, and tolerated familiarity. When escape demanded a sacrifice, V stayed behind against the Sentinels so the others could continue. Survival gave her another choice: she rejected J’s fatalism, turned her weapons on Cyn, and fought beside N and Uzi. V remains armed, predatory, secretive, and capable of casual murder, but her loyalty is finally her own.
