On the third night, he ventured out of the office, searching for any signs of the missing children. By the fourth night, things turned chaotic—the animatronics were about to attack him, but they stopped when he took off the purple jacket that had been bothering him, since he hated the color purple. Seeing that he was different, the animatronics approached one by one and asked what he was doing there. He replied calmly, ‘I’m looking for evidence of a crime—five children went missing here, so I’m trying to find them.’ After that, the animatronics realized they could trust him, and one by one, they revealed themselves to be the very children he’d been searching for. He then asked them where they had been kept. They all pointed toward a picture of a forest, so, under cover of darkness, he went into those woods and found them—all of them and more, as he later reported. But as he briefed the chief of police, he was attacked from behind. William Afton said, ‘I’ll make sure you’re buried alongside them.’ They fought until William Afton overpowered him, then began stabbing him again and again until the cop was dead. William Afton buried him with the missing children, never to be seen again.
