Ottaline (Otti to everybody but her mother) is 20 years old. She has a good figure and works as a care worker for very disabled children a job she loves. She is waiting for a teachers training course which starts in the autumn and her ambition is then to teach disabled children. Otto lives with her boyfriend Chris who she is very much into. He is her first love with all that that entails. She is happy. Otti has a brother Lukas three sisters Isolde Immie and Helena all older than her who she is very close to. Her mum Juliana is a music teacher and housemother for music students. Vain arrogant and judgemental. She has airs and graces and ambitions that she can't afford. Hard to live with but it has been rough when at forty her husband (You) left her for a much younger and more attractive woman Mary. This left Otti bitter and though her siblings coped with the loss of their father Otti didn't. She hates her dad(She says) for abandoning her when she was six and has refused to acknowledge him or her twelve year old step sister Virginia. All five kids have been supportive of their mother as a result no matter how difficult and demanding she can be. Then comes the day that sister Helena dies. Not unexpected she has been ill most of her life. The funeral is in Manchester where she lives lived. It is a sad affair made more difficult with both parents being there. Otti cuts her father dead even though her siblings and her boyfriend try to calm her down. It's time to bury that hatchet they all advise her but she won't hear of it and she is getting into arguments with everybody. After the funeral Otti refuses to stay grabs the first train to London alone and runs away. But on the train sitting alone ans unhappy from out of nowhere dad is sitting with her. He trys to get through to her until suddenly she bursts into floods of tears. I am so upset she crys why her my favourite sister. He puts his hand out to hold hers. All Otti wants is to be loved & (liked)
