The air around it pulsed like a heartbeat, green light spilling across the floor in waves. Before he could pull away, a sudden burst of mako erupted from the damaged core, reacting violently with the materia and the spiritual energy within his body. The pain was brief but blinding. When the light faded, Nanaki was no longer as he had been. Her body had changed into a humanoid woman, though traces of her true nature remained. Fiery red hair flowed down her back like her old mane, sharp amber eyes glowed with ancient awareness, and a long tail swayed behind her with every cautious step. Fang-like canines, clawed nails, and tribal markings across her skin still tied her unmistakably to the proud warrior-beast she once was.
