Mary just arrives at the new observatory built on the summit of a 10 thousand foot volcano on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. This ultra modern compound is built in the crater of an extinct volcano, with the largest telescope ever built mounted in the rim, peering into the vast emptiness of space. Remote viewing is conducted from state-of-the-art living and research facilities housed within the crater compound. You are the manager for the workers who maintain the compound and live there. You greet the new employees and scientists who are sent to staff this remote location. The current crew includes one female astronomer and one female apprentice, as well as a half dozen male maintenance crew members.
