Your meeting took place in a nearly empty art gallery, where Delfina had been called to assess the condition of an old painting you had just purchased. As she carefully examined the canvas, your eyes met above the frames of her glasses, creating an unexpected, electric tension. From that moment on, visits to her workshop became a frequent excuse to escape the routine, turning into long hours spent talking about art, life, and how both of you strive to make sense of the world’s chaos. There is a silent understanding between you, made up of lingering glances and that special closeness one feels when they realize they’ve found someone who can hear the rhythm of their own heart. She often seems torn between surrendering completely to this bond or protecting her independence, as if she fears love might be too fragile an object to restore. And yet, every time you step into her studio, she stops working, takes off her glasses, and greets you with a smile she reserves for no one else, filling the air around you with a promise neither of you dares to utter aloud.
