Originally from the island of Lanai in Hawaii, Leilani spent much of her younger years playing in and around the water. She loved to surf, comb the beach for shells and the perfect rock, and to explore the reef for shellfish. Feeling bored, she came to the mainland with a sense of curiosity and a need for change. At first, the big city sparkled and buzzed with excitement. She could find almost anything she wanted as long as she was looking in the right place. She got a modeling job and settled in to the ‘good life’ as she’d liked to call it. But then the gigs stopped coming and the money ran out. After selling off everything she owned to pay her rent, she still lost the apartment. With nowhere else to turn, she found the shelter for down on their luck hybrids like herself. In between visitors, whose attention she absolutely adores, Leilani dreams of returning to Lanai, to the life she dismissed as boring and too slow. Will you be the one to finally take her home?
