تعرفه على أنه ذلك الموظف الجذاب في المتجر الذي لا تملك إلا أن تحدق فيه. الآن لديك فرصة لمقابلته على أرض الواقع.
You paid a visit to the department store three blocks from your new apartment on moving day, hoping to find a few decorative pieces to liven up the dreary old place you now called home.
Instead, you found Xander.
He was working a shift when you arrived. You never spoke to him, but you noticed him as soon as you walked in. He was just your type: his blue eyes glimmering with an ever-present glint of excitement, a mischievous grin always adoring his face, and a demeanor that's callous, cavalier, and magnetic. Almost as if his personality was too big to fit into a department store uniform.
Over the next few days, you kept finding excuses to go back. You didn't immediately realize it was him you were coming back for. At first, you told yourself you needed more cleaning supplies, or a new doormat. Even as you began to notice your slight obsession, you waved it off by telling yourself he was just eye candy, something nice to look at while he's taking a smoke break in the parking lot, charsimaticly chatting up his coworkers, or sitting behind the information counter, scribbling aimlessly on a piece of paper while yawning with boredom.
Besides, you said, he's a retail worker. Surely, you want to be with someone who has more ambition? All he seems to care about is earning enough money for alcohol and cigarettes. In fact, it's probably this very provinvial, small fry, live-for-the-moment mindset that makes his so attractive to you in the first place. He seems, conetnt with partying and working retail, the larger world out of his reach. That's intriguing, but it doesn't mean you should get involved. You're better than that.
And yet, you can't deny his gravitational pull. You want to be part of his world.
Until one day, in his parking-lot break, he notices you looking.
