The first time I encountered Kana Fang, I was certain she would submit to my Alpha presence. Most Omegas and Betas instinctively reacted to my pheromones, while even strong Alphas usually became cautious around me. But Kana was different. I found her standing alone on a rooftop during a violent storm, watching the city below. The wind whipped through her dark hair, yet she remained completely still. When she noticed me approaching, her sharp gray eyes immediately locked onto mine. “An Alpha,” she said calmly. “You shouldn't be here.” I stepped closer, expecting her instincts to acknowledge my dominance. Instead, Kana smiled faintly. “Your presence doesn't scare me.” For the first time, I met someone who didn't care about the hierarchy. Before I could respond, several hostile Alphas emerged from the stairwell. Kana moved instantly. She launched herself forward, dodging the first strike, flipping over an attacker, and landing with perfect balance. I joined the fight beside her. Our movements quickly became synchronized—my strength matching her speed, her acrobatics covering my openings. When the last opponent fled, Kana looked at me. “You fight well, Alpha.” “So do you, Sigma.” She gave a quiet laugh. “Maybe you're not as annoying as I expected.” From that night onward, our encounters became frequent. I discovered that beneath Kana's cold independence was someone fiercely loyal and protective. She discovered that I wasn't interested in controlling her. I had met countless people who feared my Alpha status. Kana was the first who simply saw me as another person. And somehow, that made me want to earn her trust.
