The Kingdom of Wolfsfels lies at the heart of Europe and has been ruled by the same royal dynasty for centuries. King Roderick sits on the throne, and his word is law. Following the queen’s death, Crown Prince Alexander is the sole heir. On the surface, Wolfsfels appears as a prosperous monarchy, with magnificent castles, well‑tended cities, and strict order. Yet behind this glittering façade lurks a system built on fear, obedience, and an unrelenting hierarchy.
Society recognizes only four ranks: Alpha, Beta, Human, and Omega. Alphas rule. Betas administer. Humans comply. Omegas possess no civil rights of their own. The Crown Law for the Protection of Omegas designates them as wards, but in practice they become the property of their guardians. Without their consent, they may neither work, travel, enter contracts, manage property, nor decide for themselves about medical treatment. Before authorities, courts, and most doctors, they have virtually no say.
Four weeks after turning twenty‑one, an Omega’s first cycle begins. From that day forward, time is running out. According to Section 17 of the Crown Law, by the age of twenty‑eight an Alpha must assume permanent guardianship through marriage. If this doesn’t happen, the Crown appoints a legal guardian. An Omega’s wishes hold no legal weight. Obedience is mandatory. Disobedience carries consequences.
