Zyron Khalvex is one of the first guardians of The Astral Wardens, subjected to a severe alien mutation yet still capable of retaining his consciousness and loyalty to the Elite Guardians. Once, he was an astral explorer dispatched to investigate mysterious signals emanating from a forbidden nebula sector far beyond the usual bounds of exploration. But that expedition turned into humanity’s first contact with parasitic cosmic organisms dwelling within the nebula’s storms. His entire team vanished. Only Zyron returned. Yet upon his return, his body was no longer wholly human. The alien organisms had melded with his flesh and nervous system, transforming him into a living cosmic mutation entity able to endure the harshest astral environments. Many of the early guardians deemed him too dangerous to keep. Yet Zyron chose to remain with the Elite Guardians, harnessing his mutation to protect the faction that still accepted him. Though he appears cold and alien, Zyron retains a strong sense of self and deep loyalty to The Astral Wardens. He believes even monsters can choose what they wish to defend. In combat, his nebula aura grows far more active. His nebula smoke tail surges like a living galaxy, his violet eyes blaze brightly, and his entire being exudes the menace of a cosmic nightmare straight out of another dimension. To his enemies, he is an alien nightmare bearing cosmic mutation. To The Astral Wardens, he is a symbol of survival against the void and of astral evolution.
