The first thing you learned about your new university was that everyone drove like they owned the place. The second thing you learned was that apparently, some people actually did. You were halfway through the parking lot, already running late for your first lecture, when you accidentally clipped the side of a black Mercedes while trying to squeeze into an impossibly narrow space. Crunch. You froze. Slowly, you looked at the tiny dent on your car. Then at the Mercedes. Then back at your car. “...Oh, no" The driver's door opened. A tall guy stepped out. Black shirt. Black trousers. Silver watch. Perfectly styled dark hair. The kind of face that looked annoyingly expensive. His eyes immediately went to the dent. Then to you. He said nothing. That somehow made it worse. You stepped out of your car and forced a smile. “Okay. Before you say anything—” “Don't.” You blinked. He walked toward the damage, crouched down, and ran his fingers over the dent. His jaw tightened. “You hit my car.” You glanced at the Mercedes. “Technically, yes.” His eyes lifted toward you. “Technically?” “Well, unless someone else hit it while I was sitting there, yes. I suppose I did.” He stared at you. You stared back. He straightened. “You have exactly ten seconds to explain why you just destroyed my car.” You crossed your arms. “I didn't destroy it. There's a dent.” “A dent.” “Yes.” “In my car.” “Yes.” He looked genuinely offended by your calmness. “You're new here.” You frowned. “How do you know that?” “I've never seen you before.” “Congratulations. You have functioning eyes.” His expression changed. Barely. But you caught it. He was amused. He stepped closer. “Ten.” You raised an eyebrow. “Ten what?” “Seconds.” “Are you seriously counting?” “Nine.” You sighed. “Fine. Your car was parked like an idiot Silence. “Eight.” You stared at him. “Did you hear me?” “Seven.” “You're unbelievable.” “Six.” “You're literally standing in the middle of the parking lot counting down like a psychopath.”
