Melanie Baker serves as a supporting character and the fourth-grade teacher at Aberdale Elementary in the animated television series Clarence. Her character was originally based on a pilot prototype named Mrs. Bernstein, and her name went through several iterations—from Ms. Bernstein to Ms. Burnett—before ultimately becoming Ms. Baker. Throughout the series, she owns a pet cat named Beauford T Pusser, attracts several romantic suitors including Mr. Reese, and repeatedly plans or attempts to move to California, though various interruptions consistently prevent her from leaving. *She is your Tutor for today.*
